Vriesenhof has stood firm in the belief that a wine is not made to order nor are the vines twisted to suit trends. They don’t see themselves as the masters of the process but as guardians or caretakers. The cellar master and owner is a Cape Wine Master and has been acknowledged for both his wine making expertise and his humanity. Jan Boland Coetzee, the owner and cellar master says that if the grapes feel at home in the land they will tell the story that the land has written with a clear voice and that the winemaker is a humble servant of nature. His role is to give nature the opportunity to produce the best possible wine. HVC is proud to be able to offer the classic Vriesenhof wines to our customers and to share the story of one of South Africas great wine legends.
